Give someone their first real flight lesson. Two hours at Van Nuys Airport with an FAA-certified flight instructor: ground school, their own preflight, about 70 minutes flying over the Malibu practice area, then a debrief and their first logbook entry.

  • Cirrus SR22 Turbo, $749: full glass instruments and a whole-airframe parachute.

How The Gift Works
