What Each One Unlocks

Complex — The Piper Arrow

Retractable gear, flaps and a controllable-pitch propeller. Training covers gear systems and gear emergencies, prop and power management, and the longer flows that come with both. Many fleets require it, and commercial applicants have long been expected to hold it. Most pilots finish in 5 to 10 hours of dual. We quote the training as one block covering the aircraft and the instructor together, not as an hourly rate.

High-Performance — The Cirrus SR22 Turbo

Any engine over 200 horsepower needs this sign-off, and ours is the best trainer for it in LA: 310 turbocharged horsepower, Perspective avionics and the CAPS whole-airframe parachute. You learn power management, faster approach profiles and energy discipline. It doubles as a Cirrus transition for future SR owners. If you want the SR22 from your first lesson rather than as an add-on, the $22,500 Premium Private Pilot program is flown in it.

Both endorsements pair naturally with commercial training and the $5,100 multi-engine rating — one focused week at Van Nuys can add all three lines to your logbook.

No — your instructor endorses your logbook once you demonstrate proficiency. One flight-review-style session at the end, no examiner, no written test.

Any pilot who wants to fly faster aircraft, commercial students building competitive resumes, and pilots stepping up to a Cirrus, Bonanza, Mooney or similar. Both are one-time sign-offs.
