While You Are Waiting

Or Come And Fly The Airplane Yourself

Some people want to sit down and talk first. Others want to get in an airplane and find out whether they even like it. A discovery flight is a real introductory lesson, not a sightseeing ride — and you fly it.

  • You Fly It Yourself, From The Left Seat
  • 60 Minutes With An FAA-Certified Instructor
  • Fully Credited Toward Your Training If You Continue

Nothing to decide before your consultation — plenty of people do both.

What Happens Next

Three Short Steps

There is very little to this, which is rather the point.

  1. Your Confirmation Arrives In Writing

An email with the day and time you picked. Keep it, and add it to your calendar while you are thinking about it.

  2. We Confirm With You The Day Before

A quick call or text to check you are still coming and that the time still works. If something has come up, say so — moving it is genuinely no trouble and nobody will be put out.

Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time. And if you cannot make it at all, just call us on (818) 290-8249 and we will move it — the consultation is free, so there is no fee and nothing to lose either way.

  3. You Come To Suite 108A And We Talk

Come in, sit down, ask anything. If you would rather bring a partner, a parent or a friend, bring them — people do it all the time and it usually makes for a better conversation.

The Half Hour

What We Will Actually Cover

Not a presentation. Five things, in whatever order you want them.

What You Want Out Of Flying. A license, a career, or one good afternoon in the air — these are three completely different conversations and we would rather have the right one.

Which Program Actually Fits. There is no point selling you the biggest course on the shelf. We will tell you which path suits your goal, and say so plainly if we are not the right school for it.

Cost, And How People Pay For It. Real numbers, itemised, including the things that catch people out. We will also go through financing options rather than leaving you to guess.

Your Schedule — The Honest Bit. How many days a week you can realistically fly drives your timeline more than anything else does. Come with a rough answer and the rest of the maths follows.

Medical And Eligibility. What you would need to have in place before training, and when in the process it needs to happen. Bring any question you have been worrying about here — it is usually less of a problem than people fear.

Look For This Entrance. The dark red timber canopy over the glass doors is the landmark — that is the door you want. Walk in there and someone will be expecting you.

Getting To The Right Door

7900 Balboa Blvd is a shared multi-tenant hangar complex at Van Nuys Airport, with a number of unrelated aviation businesses in it. The street number alone will get you to the right car park but not the right door — the suite number is what matters.

Head for Suite 108A.

Parking is out front. If you are outside and cannot work out which door is ours, call (818) 290-8249 and someone will walk out and meet you.

Before You Come

Four Things Worth Thinking About On The Way

None of this is homework. But the visit is better if you have turned these over once.

What Does “I Want To Fly” Mean For You?

A license for weekends, a career in an airline seat, or simply the experience of flying an airplane once. All three are legitimate and we will happily talk about any of them — we just need to know which one we are planning around.

How Many Days A Week Could You Honestly Fly?

This is the single biggest driver of how long training takes. Be realistic rather than optimistic — someone flying twice a week gets there far faster than someone who intends to fly four times and manages one.

What Is Your Budget, Roughly?

You do not need a figure to the dollar, and nobody will push you on it. But knowing whether you are thinking in terms of a few thousand or a career-sized investment lets us give you a useful answer instead of a vague one.

Any Hours Already, And Any Worries You Have Not Said Out Loud?

If you have flown before, bring your logbook. And bring the question you think is silly — whether it is airsickness, nerves, eyesight, age or maths. Those are the questions we answer most often, and they are never as much of an obstacle as people assume.

There Is Genuinely Nothing To Buy

You are booking half an hour of someone's time, not a product. Nothing is charged, no card is held, and there is no version of this visit where you are asked to sign something before you leave.

You will leave with a written plan and real numbers so you can think about it properly at home. Then you decide in your own time. Nobody chases you — no drip emails, no follow-up sequence, no call in three days asking whether you have made a decision.

If we are not the right school for what you want, we will tell you that too. It is a small industry and it is a better use of everyone's half hour.
